What i ate today

Breakfast: I made a buttermilk tart in the wee hours of last night, from this recipe http://www.thegalleygourmet.net/2010/11/11232010-buttermilk-tart-i-know-many-of.html
all the cooling and coming to room temperature takes awhile so dont start making this at 830pm like i did. so i had a slice of this............and then it was good so i had another slice.... and another after that, and a jimmy deans sage sausage patty, i prefer the maple or hot, but tried the sage this time. and also some egg whites leftover from the yolks i used for the buttermilk tart. forgot to use some caramel sauce on the buttermilk tart, but it was sweet enough without it.

for lunch, found a sonic coupon for 2 of their new hotdogs with med tater tots and med drink for $5... tried the ny style and chicago. previously tried the chicago but wasnt as good today as i remember it. liked the crunch of the poppyseeds on the bun but the peppers were not as long and tough to bite through. i do like the combo of mustard and relish. i expected the ny to be disagreeable to my palate as i dont care much for sauerkraut but the flavor of the sauerkraut was not authentic and as pungent as it should be so it was surprisingly good.

dinner was another hot dog this from a new food truck called good dog hot dog.
i got the ol zapata dog. sits on a slow dough bun which is amazing, great texture and umami with some sweetness. wished it was on the slow dough pretzel dough like moon tower inn but this was nearly as good. sausage had great flavor with a little spice lots of snap in the casing without being too difficult to bite through. toppings on this dog were bacon bits, shredded muenster cheese, caramelized onions, tomatoes, jalapeno relish, ketchup and mayo. loved all the toppings, even though i was worried because i forgot to order it with no mayo, it was very subdued and mild and did well to anchor the other condiments. at 4.75 it was pricey for a hotdog considering it's size, but given the right mood and some extra bucks in my pocket i would definitely go try their other flavors
